This Artwork is part of a series I have been working on this year 2022. There are 10 pieces and each of them has some material (rope) displayed in different ways. Red is a color of strength and power, which can be absorbed when you contemplate it. Strength is often needed and we can't have enough of it. In Feng-Shui terms, red is associated with the Ba-Gua Career in our household or office. Signed on verso. Note: The frame on display in the picture is for decor, the artwork comes without a frame. Thank You, Giorgio

GIORGIO BOSSO Giorgio Bosso was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Bullied at school at a young age, he was often called aceituna (or)testa di oliva (“olive head”) because of the very short haircuts his mother gave him. Traumatizing early childhood sexual abuse led to more social isolation and a lifelong struggle to understand his place in the world. At an early age, he was forced to leave school to support his family. At the age of 18, he moved to Milan, Italy, in search of a better future. Eventually, he moved to Los Angeles, where he studied, practiced, and taught the healing arts, including macrobiotic cooking, reiki, and yoga. For years, he struggled to understand and cope with his vivid and disturbing childhood memories. During the COVID lockdown in Los Angeles, he was heartbroken that he could not visit his beloved mother, Nina, in Argentina. Then, suddenly and unexpectedly, she passed away in her sleep, which left a massive void in his soul and brought a flood of deep emotions into his heart. To cope with his loss, he went into his garage and used whatever materials were available to transform his feelings into a work to honor his mother. His first series of four paintings was called “Knots in My Soul.” He had never used a paintbrush or stretched a canvas before. He was teaching himself and discovering new mediums. He used jute as a texture to express the tension and feeling inside. “I see that child trapped in a cage, yearning to escape.” That was the beginning of his daily practice of creating art, an art that transformed his mind, his spirit, and his life. Giorgio’s work continues to reflect his struggle to face his past traumas. It represents transformation, self-affirmation, love, caring, and the determination to break free from the confusion and sorrow of the past. Giorgio’s work is held in many private collections in Los Angeles, New York, and Memphis. He was featured by Saatchi Art in 2022 in a Collective Collection. He worked in his studio in Los Angeles from 2019 until 2023 and then decided to move back with his family and his dog, Oli, to Milan, Italy, where he has his studio.
