This art work 'I dreamed that I was coming back' is a part of a cycle of painting and photography which is called 'About Home'. The cycle is my research on body memory about the architecture we grew up in. I depicted a friend of mine who was very close to me. Actually, we were living in the same apartment, while she and I experienced so tough period of our immigration. We were so vulnerable and uncertain of our future. At the same time, we were still strongly connected to our home places in our country, which had experienced a very tragic moment in its history. The artwork is about dreams like falling asleep and dreams as hope for the future of peace and freedom.

I was born in 1991 in Minsk in Belarus. I am one of those artists who cannot but create. My creative processes are intertwined with my personal life. I live and develop through my art. I have a lot of creative energy, which I express through painting, photography, objects and videos. I am inspired by human bodies, faces, nature, cinema, poetry. My creativity is structured in such a way that I become interested in the particular themes that I explore. I am interested in the themes of femininity and female initiations in this project of mine “ I call this colour yellow”, the theme of the state of consciousness “If you dance, do dance with trees in a rhythm” of body’s memory “About Home”, and now I am studying on vulnerability in the Yearning for Paradise cycle. My works can be found in the Museum of Drawing in Skopje, Makedonia, an album of artworks in The Library of The Museum of modern Art New York, as well as private collections of Belarus, Poland, France, Netherlands, Andorra. http://tatsianakarpachova.com/ https://www.instagram.com/tatsiana_karpachova/
