The artwork titled ‘Cut Oranges’ represents an endeavor to encapsulate the allure of everyday existence. In my north-facing studio, I’m blessed with exquisite natural light, and I aimed to capture its gentle embrace of these segmented orange pieces. This painting serves as a reminder of the intrinsic beauty within even the simplest of objects, such as an orange. It encourages viewers to contemplate that, in life, everything and everyone possesses a unique beauty if we possess the discerning eye to perceive it. The painting’s style is a fusion of classical painting techniques reminiscent of the old masters, infused with a contemporary sensibility. This painting was selected as one of the top 100 finalists in the Plein Air Salon magazine competition. The painting is done on a linen canvas stuck on a wooden board and will be shipped this way. Framing is not included but the painting can directly be hung as it's on the wooden board. Framed photo of the painting on the wall is shown for representational purposes only.

Artist Bio: Pritha is an emerging Indian traditional portrait and still life painter based in Singapore. Growing up in a small town nestled in the Himalayan foothills in India, the surrounding people and nature always inspired her. She started drawing and painting at an early age but had to give it up eventually for higher education. Fast forward about 15 years, that's when her love for art really came alive again when she moved to Singapore. The city's dynamic art scene and supportive community provided her with encouragement to pursue her vision. Pritha's artworks have found homes with collectors in Singapore and India. Her artworks have also gained recognition in competitions held by international art magazines like Plein Air Salon and Arts to Hearts Project. Pritha actively participates in Singapore's art community and is a supporter of women's liberation causes. Artist Statement: As a traditional portrait and still life artist, I draw and paint with oil, graphite and charcoal in the traditional realism style infused with a contemporary touch. My creative process starts with an emotional spark triggered by something I see, whether it's people, objects, or flowers. Subsequently, I engage in creating studies of these subjects before getting started on the actual painting. Throughout the painting process, I explore various brushstrokes and colors, experimenting to bring my artistic vision to life. I draw substantial inspiration from the wisdom of revered masters like William Adolphe Bouguereau, Henry Fantin Latour among many others. Through my drawings and paintings, my goal is to reveal the profound simplistic beauty that surrounds us and I want the viewer to embark on a journey of discovery and emotions. My wish, for those who experience my art, is to be captivated by the glimpses of everyday life and nature, leaving them captivated and inspired.
