"Crossing" appears in the heart of the composition a dark cube. This one is not black but grey "graphite" that is to say grey anthracite with a metallic effect. The "graphite" paint is in relief and can therefore "catch" the light and make streaks appear depending on its orientation. It is opposed to the transparency of the other cubes which are blue. This effect of contrast underlines the paradox of this so particular crossing: a mixture of lightness and heaviness.

France
Born in 1970, Ludovic Mercher is a professional painter who lives and works in the West of France. His paintings have been sold in 24 countries around the world. With a bare palette and different materials (acrylic paint, Japanese newspaper, Korean paper fiber, metal plates, rust pigments), the artist confronts the straight line with the landscape, sometimes bringing some figurative touches. As much influenced by architecture than nature, his research is that of the balance, the vital space that we must find between matter and spirit.
