Chemical Substance captures the essence of vulnerability and empowerment through the delicate portrayal of the human form. Inspired by the raw beauty found in embracing one's authenticity, this nude painting celebrates the strength and grace inherent in exposing our true selves. Each brushstroke reveals a sense of intimacy and honesty, inviting the viewer to witness the unguarded beauty of the subject. The choice of oil on canvas as the medium lends richness and depth to the artwork, allowing for subtle nuances of color and texture to emerge. The layers of paint create a tactile quality, inviting viewers to engage with the piece on a sensory level. Through "Chemical Substance" I aim to evoke a sense of contemplation and introspection in its viewers. By shedding societal expectations and embracing vulnerability, we can find a profound sense of serenity and acceptance within ourselves. It is my hope that this painting serves as a reminder of the beauty that lies in authenticity and the freedom that comes from embracing our true selves.

Benjamin Garcia was born in Caracas (Venezuela) in 1986. His work is the result of a meditative process through painting. The images he constructs are developed through intuition and results in profoundly symbolic portraits that play with movement, transformation and color. So far, fascinated by the female subject, his artworks explore ideas about the contrast between beauty and violence. While the main message of his work is something he likes to leave to the interpretation of viewers, Ben admits that the physical breakdown of the human subject in his paintings is a reflection of the disintegration of the psyche trough time.
